The Ambato Hill is a natural formation located between the provinces of Catamarca and La Rioja, in the north of Argentina. Its wide peak and high altitude are often victim of fires, originated by the extreme hot weathers and plain surfaces of grass.

This painting is Pandu Wijaya’s love letter to the Dutch Golden-Age period. Through his still-life paintings, Pandu Wijaya brought back the glory and value of the still-life genre that was a popular genre among aristocrats back in the Dutch Golden-Age period.

The drawing takes you back to those childhood dreams and concerns on who and what we wanted to be, when we grow up. Fortunately we some times thin its easy to choose who we want to be but unfortunately when we grow up the challenges of world shape us on what the world wants us to be.

It has always been interesting for me to watch the performance not from the audience's point of view, but from the point of view of the artists themselves. The artwork is a triptych and also is the largest of my ballet-themed paintings, the sketches of which were made during a performance on stage at the Yerevan Opera and Ballet Theater
