The Giant of San Jose (Series Northern Argentine Cardon flowers)

Juan Arévalo
The cardon is a typical flower from that grows in the North of Argentina. Leged tells that Kewayl Amatua and Pascana, the children of two enemy tribes, fell in love and fled their lands. As they were escaping persecution, they were offered a deal by the Devil to become invisible in exchange for their souls. After rejecting it, they prayed to Pacha Mama, who turned Kewayl into a cardon flower, and placed Pascana inside, to keep them safe. Acrylic on soft cardboard
