Tunales (Series Argentine North Cardones)

Juan Arévalo
The tunal or tuna is a type of cardón, a typical flower of Catamarca and the northern regions of Argentina. Its bright colors are deceiving, as the flower grows on cactus plants, in the middle of a desert-like landscape. The petals and its color gradient resemble certain birds, with its white stamens posing as beaks.
