Cardon's Flower

In legends, a native young man fell in love with the Chief's daughter and, when her father opposed the union, he kidnapped her. While fleeing, they reached a road Cardón (cactus) field, where the spines pierced their feet, sending drops of blood into the beautiful white flowers that grew on top of the trees. Their union, though forbidden and unfulfilled, created the modern colored flower we see today.
